Rent a Car Lofoten is a local car rental company in Svolvær. We rent out practical cars to travellers who want to explore Lofoten without paying for an expensive new car.
Our story
From 17 cars to almost 200
Kåre took over the company in 2018. Since then, Rent a Car Lofoten has grown from 17 cars to around 200 in total.
We have recently moved from Vorsetøyveien 20 C to Sivert Nilsens gate 43 in Svolvær. This is where we handle rentals, car preparation and local follow-up.

How we operate
Practical cars, lower prices
Many travellers do not need a new, expensive car to experience Lofoten. They need a practical car that fits the trip and keeps the cost down.
That is why we rent used and older cars and maintain them locally. Around 200 cars are connected to the operation, but not all are ready for rental at the same time. Some are with customers, in the workshop, being prepared or adjusted for the season.

We are among the more affordable options in Lofoten because the cars are used, practical and maintained locally.
Workshop
Our own workshop makes it easier to follow up cars quickly and keep them on the road.
Availability
The booking shows cars that are relevant for your dates, not the entire fleet.
